Taking into account the different perspectives of psychology, and the importance that the emotional development in children have in this field, the researches that are being made in emotional education has been strengthened. This study introduces literature as a path to work with the emotions. It describes the types of emotions that were found when analyzing eighty children's stories. This investigation took into consideration the qualitative methods and narratives and also analysis of content. In this analysis, mixed procedures were included. This study was conducted in order to make an initial exploration of cultural productions. Focusing mainly in children's stories that circulate in institutions such as bookstores and public libraries. We visited the bookstore Espantapajros, also the children's sections of the Public Libraries Julio Mario Santo Domingo and Virgilio Barco, located in the city of Bogota. The question that guided this investigation was What are the emotions that circulate in children's stories in some institutions of the culture?. As a final result of this investigation, we were able to establish some of the characteristic that exist between children’s literature and emotions, which can contribute to the research of emotional education. It is hoped that this approach serves as an enrichment tool for the main areas involved in child development such as psychology, literature, pedagogy, librarianship and family surroundings.
