Neo-liberal cultural models generate “global identities” that are nuanced by acculturation, which lack or limit the adoption of social symbols and values that facilitate interaction and social development. This article approaches the global, national and regional identity under the perspectives of acculturation, globalization, citizen culture, social representations and memory, to characterize the identity of cucuteno and to identify conceptual, praxis and axiological elements that must be considered when formulating strategies of identity consolidation to promote Social development as an articulating requirement of projects and collective initiatives of well-being and achievements of great regional impact. The article develops a state of the art of identity applied in the city of Cucuta to support the discourse tending to the cognitive, affective and social characterization of the individuals and to formulate pedagogical and curricular strategies of rescue of the cucutena identity.
