Desarrollo de habilidades para producir una semejanza gráfica de información espacial en niños y niñas de grado primero de instituciones educativas de la ciudad de Medellín
This research was focused toward the analysis of the skills development process in order to produce graphic resemblance of spatial information. Starting from the pedagogical proposal “vivo y represento mi espacio ” -I live and represent my space-, which consisted on different activities related to the bidimensional and tridimensional representation made by girls and boys that attend first grade in educational institutions of Medellin. This proposal aimed to identify the cognitive profile of the girls and boys that stood out on their spatial intelligence performance. This study also allowed establishing differences about gender and age. One of the big interests of this study was to recognize those processes related with the construction of the nuclear capability of producing graphic resemblance of spatial information giving the aspects that compose and involve other capabilities that define spatial intelligence (acknowledgement of instances from the same object, transformation or recognition of the changes between an element and other, evocation of mental imagery in order to transform it) and it implicates that the subject possess skills that allow those transformations: awareness of visual elements around the environment and illustrations, representation of the visual world in two and three dimensions, creation of recognizable symbols from common objects (symbolism), spatial coordination of elements in a unified whole (location) and use of realistic proportions of detailed characteristics on different productions (scale).
