In the last few years it has been observed how in Medellin has increased the use of the bicycle in diverses ways, from this phenomenon arose the interest to carry out this research, seeking to describe how they behave, act, make decisions and what are the meanings of the university students in the city towards the use of this means of transport. Likewise, it was intended to research about the individual-environment interaction that develops when using it. To fulfill the research objective were made semi-structured interviews to eleven students from different universities in the city. The study was oriented from a qualitative strategy that allowed the researchers to have more contact with the phenomenon and its participants, with the purpose of collecting information regarding beliefs, thoughts and actions assumed by them in relation to the topic, also to having a more social theoretical structure, where social and environmental psychology and symbolic interactionism played an important role. At the end of the research process, we described the different uses made by university students of the bicycle, the forms of teaching and learning, and the psycho-emotional factors that influence the behavior of individuals to continue using it in their life daily.
