The Serrania de Perija is a mountain chain situated in the north-eastern part of the Republic of Colombia (Departamento del Magdalena and lntendencia de la Guajira), at the Venezuelan border. Cupriferous rocks outcrop in the part of this chain located between the latitudes of the villages Codazzi and Molino. These outcrops are dispersed in a wide area, but in some places they are concentrated in small extentions. The present work deals with these manifestations of copper mineralization and their origin.
