The knowledge of the normal physiological parameters in each of the species is necessary since it allows to detect alterations in the patients during the diagnosis of diseases, the follow up of anesthetized patients and the evaluation of the animal welfare, for that reason it is necessary that they are established in each region and for each species. In the case of asnals and mules, the established values for horses have been used because of their evolutionary relationship although there are clear anatomical, physiological and metabolic differences. In Colombia, information about the normal values of the physiological parameters in asnal and mules is virtually absent, so, the objective of this article was to report the normal values for the physiological parameters of asnals and mules of Antioquia Southwest, for which conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study, where 344 mules and 45 clinically healthy males, between 2 and 20 years of age of both sexes were sampled and it was determined whether there was a difference between means according to species, sex, zootechnical function performed and age . The results obtained in this study show some differences in the mean values obtained for the parameters of temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate and capillary filling time with respect to previously established for equines, asnals and mules in other parts of the world. It was also determined that some of these parameters can be influenced by the species (asnal or mular), the sex or zootechnical function performed
