RESUMEN Este articulo tiene el proposito de alcanzar los principales aportes de Andres Bello acerca de un tema de actualidad:la integracion de America Latina. En todo el planeta se forman grandes agrupaciones de paises; se trata de una megatendencia de nuestro tiempo que, respecto a la porcion del mundo que habitamos, la avizoraron diversos pensadores, cuya profecia se convierte en realidad. Uno de dichos personajes fue Andres Bello, escritor, poeta,maestro, gramatico, diplomatico y politico, nacido en Caracas (1781), afincado y fallecido en Chile (1865).Bello fue partidario de un proceso de integracion sujeto a reglas claras y precisas, en torno a asuntos de caracter politico, economico, educativo y cultural, preferentemente mediante tratados bilaterales o multilaterales. Aunque recibio la influencia del pensamiento europeo –Ilustracion y romanticismo– no cayo bajo el embeleso extranjerizante. Se ubico en el camino de la identidad de nuestros pueblos¸ alejado del colonialismo mental. Su obra se orienta hacia la autonomia intelectual de America Latina, por ello, la educacion desempena papel esencial en la integracion humana, tras fondo de todas las variantes de integracion. El pensamiento integracionista de Bello conserva vigencia, se ubica entre los grandes propositos latinoamericanos que buscan alcanzar diversos organismos regionales y sub regionales de nuestros dias. Se trata de un trabajo de caracter cualitativo y de reflexion que libremente apunta a la interpretacion de los aportes de Bello sobre este gran futurible: la integracion de los pueblos de America Latina. Palabras clave: America Latina, integracion. ABSTRACT This article has the intention of reach the principal contributions of Andres Bello about a topic of actuality:Latin America integration. Big group of countries are forming in the whole planet; it is a question as amegatendency of our time that, with regard to the portion of the world that we inhabit, the diverse vision ofthinkers, whose prediction turns into reality. One of the above mentioned personages was, precisely, AndresBello, writer, poet, teacher, grammarian, diplomat and politician, born in Caracas (1781), settled down anddied in Chile (1865).Bello participated in the integration process involved into clear and precise rules, concerning matters ofpolitical, economic, educational and cultural character, preferably by means of bilateral or multilateralagreements.Although he received the influence of the European thought –Enlightenment and romanticism– he did not falldown under the foreign influence. He was located in the way of the identity of our people removed from themental colonialism. His work is faced towards the intellectual autonomy of Latin America, so, educationredeems essential role in the human integration, background of all the variants of integration.It is a qualitative and reflection work that freely points at the interpretation of the contributions of Bello on thisbig vision: the integration of Latin American people.
