Análisis multitemporal del glaciar del volcán nevado de Santa Isabel, localizado en los límites de los departamentos de Risaralda, Caldas y Tolima entre los años: 1986, 1989 y 1999
The article presents the analysis of the surface variation of the glacier area of the snowy volcano of Santa Isabel, located in the limits of the departments of Risaralda, Caldas and Tolima between the years: 1986, 1989 and 1999, this research has three Important moments concerning: Pre-processing, processing and post-processing; In the pre-processing stage, satellite images were selected and obtained from the study area of the U.S. Geological Survey for the years 1986, 1989 and 1999, they were delimited by a cut made in the Geomatics PCI software; In the processing the Geomatics PCI software was implemented to run the algorithm of maximum probability and thus obtain a classification of coverages with their respective corrections and ArcGIS to perform a geometry analysis after an import of the results obtained in the Geomatics PCI software and with This finding the surface area of the snow cover of Santa Isabel that allowed to establish the variation of the same in each one of the years of study and in post-processing, the variation in square and percentage kilometers of the glacier area of the Santa Isabel snow-capped volcano was established based on the results obtained from the ArcGIS software, it is concluded that between 1986 and 1989 several studies were depleted At 1.071952 square kilometers corresponding to 15%, between 1989 and 1999 the study coverage continued to fall by 1.06337 square kilometers corresponding to 17%, for a total change in the period from 1986 to 1999 of 2.135322 square kilometers corresponding to 28 %.
