This research project aims to determine the diet of the fish species Ichthyoelephas lon­girostris ( jetudo ) characterize the physico -chemical and biological conditions of the environment where the species grows determining factor is the impact of growth and behavior , analyze the stomach contents of individuals of this species, as problems iden­tifying the little knowledge we have of this species, the various human activities that are performed in the study area put this critically endangered species (Mojica JI , et al 2012) , by altering the environment in which it develops and fishing activities . It thus seeks to provide information to breeding programs, conservation and rational management of this species , at once recognized it to develop technological packages that encourage production and marketing , it is proposed to continue experimental field methods (fishing individuals, physicochemical water) laboratory (morphometry, weighing, stomach content analysis) and analysis (charts), tabulations, results, interpretation , project formulation), obtaining as results limnofaga is a species with omnivorous characteris­tics , establishing 13 food groups in preference to inert plant material , thus allowing the normal development of biomass and length in size , allowing to relate the food supply of the medium with the biometric development of the species.
