This paper presents the results of the Geophysical exploration of the emerald deposits in the town of Chivor and interesting areas in the town of Macanal, located in the Department of' Boyaca (Colombia), using a combination of radiometric, emanometric, magnetometric, geoelectric and electromagnetic methods. The geophysical exploration was made in the areas selected by the geochemical exploration done by Cardozo and Leal (2000) in their research (Cardozo et al., 2000). The field work was divided in two steps. In the first, radiometric and magnetometric methods allowing fost field data acquisition. In the second, electromagnetic and resistivity methods were applied. These methods are slower but have higher resolution than the first one. The two steps were applied both in the active mines areas and in the probably productive zones were the mineralization are covered by colluvial deposits defined by geochemical anomalies. The obtained results with the geophysical exploration were compared with the geochemical and geological models with a high correlation between all them. A direct exploration zones were recommended, based on the results of phase 2, by direct drilling, tunnels and open pit works in order to determine if the geophysical anomalies are productive or not. This jobs has to be make in the future as part of mining prospects develop.
