The transformation of ecosystems has been result of the expression of culture in the territory and the use of natural resources. As a result, changes in the distribution, representativeness and permanence of the tropical dry forest (BsT) are evident, generating impacts on the fauna. The associated fauna, medium and large mammals are fundamental to maintain the functions and services of the ecosystem, as well as the cultural customs of local use of the fauna. Changes in the structure and composition of these mammals may reflect the impact of the transformation on them, the local customs of use and the health status of the ecosystem. These impacts have not been evaluated taking into account the degree of transformation of BsT in the Colombian Andes, which are among the most transformed and least studied. The BsT of the municipality of Aipe, which are important because of their representativeness in the Magdalena Valley and Huila, are being threatened by anthropogenic activities. Although different degrees of transformation in the ecosystem have been evidenced, the impact of the degree of transformation of these forests on medium and large mammals, and the uses that the inhabitants have granted them, is unknown. To assess this, trap cameras were installed and structured interviews were carried out with the inhabitants present at each transformation stage.
