Evaluación del desempeño ambiental como herramienta para la sostenibilidad (Green Campus) en el Centro de Gestión y Desarrollo Sostenible Surcolombiano
Education Institutions (EI) must not only be professional, but should also tend to promote environmental principles by adopting measures to reduce impacts arising from their activities. The above, because the IE today can be considered as “small towns” for its large population and the various complex activities that take place on campuses, which have some serious direct and indirect impacts on the environment (AlshuwaikhatyAbubakar 2008). Given the importance of reducing environmental problems, it is necessary to create tools that enable organizations to meet their environmental performance. In this sense the Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA) is a tool that allows the planning, management and evaluation of significant environmental aspects of EI in pursuit of environmental sustainability. This study is a contribution to the generation and development of environmental performance criteria for Training centers at Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA), it is the results of the management of the most significant environmental aspects found in the Centro de Gestion y Desarrollo Sostenible Surcolombiano (CGDSS). In this vein, it is necessary to determine the environmental status of the training center in order to generate performance indicators, which entails the organization to understand the actual or potential impact of its environmental aspects and thereby support the planning and implementation of the EPA. The methodology used is the NTC - ISO 14031: 2005 adapted to the particularities of the processes and services offered by the training center. The process approach and the identification and evaluation of aspects.
