Esta condicion clinica es responsable por altos indices de morbimortalidad y provocan un gran impacto economico. El caso que presentamos tiene como objetivo determinar el costo beneficio del uso de cura avanzada versus la cura tradicional en un paciente con ulcera en la extremidad inferior que desde hace cuatro anos no presentaba ninguna mejoria en su cicatrizacion. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que, aunque los costos de la cura avanzada al inicio son mayores que en la curacion tradicional, la cura avanzada solo supuso el 16,50% del costo total versus cura convencional, logrando la cicatrizacion de la ulcera con menos intervenciones, sin complicaciones y con la intervencion de un profesional especializado; obteniendo como principal beneficio la rehabilitacion del paciente y la disminucion de los costos para el sistema de salud. EnglishUlcers of venous etiology represent a serious disorder worldwide and in Colombia, they constitute a serious public health problem. This clinical condition is responsible for high rates of morbidity and mortality and cause a great economic impact. The objective of this case is to determine the cost benefit of the use of advanced cure versus traditional cure in a patient with an ulcer in the lower limb that had no improvement in its healing for four years. The results show that, although the costs of the advanced cure at the beginning are greater than in the traditional cure, the advanced cure only accounted for 16.5% of the total cost versus conventional cure, achieving ulcer healing with fewer interventions, without complications and with the intervention of a specialized professional, obtaining as main benefit the rehabilitation of the patient and the reduction of the costs for the health system.
