Evaluación de los componentes de consumo y aprovechamiento biológico en el marco de la seguridad alimentaria y nutricional en familias campesinas, localidad de Usme, Bogotá
The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the components of consumption and biological use within the framework of the food and nutritional security of farming families, in Usme, Bogota, in the second period of 2017. A descriptive quantitative study of a cross-sectional type was carried out on a convenience sample, which aimed to identify the anthropometry nutritional status of the 12 participating farming families and determine the food consumption of the families through a consumption frequency questionnaire previously designed. In the results regarding anthropometry, 53.8% of the population was found to be undernourished, where a prevalence of 27% was found in the age group <5 years old and a weight excess in a 70% in the age group of 18 - 64 years. In the consumption component, there was a frequent intake of foods such as sugary drinks, coffee, chocolate, aromatic and salt, which is related to a high consumption of trace elements such as salt and sugar; On the other hand, the foods with the least frequency of consumption were peanuts, fish and avocado, these being the foods that provide healthy fats. Despite this, it was possible to identify that the farming of the families facilitates the consumption of varied foods that allow traditional food practices to be maintained. With these results, it is observed that the population needs nutritional education from all stages of life in order to make decisions for self-care and family care, and, in this way, improving the actual nutritional state and the future ones.
