Descripción y caracterización de los sitios de asambleas de cortejo (LEK) de rupícola peruviana en bosque húmedo subtropical en el Municipio de Santa María, Boyacá
The present research aimed to describe the habitat and sites of LEK of the species Rupicola peruviana in a subtropical humid forest in the municipality of Santa Maria, Boyaca. The descriptions of the abiotic conditions (temperature and relative humidity) and biotic conditions (DAP, CAP, plant cover and height) of the presence and absence sites of LEK were made by day sampling, where the plants associated to the sites were identified, an individual of the species was captured by means of canopy fog networks, and behavior records were made regarding hanger preference, diet, and deployment in LEK. An analysis of variance (ANOVA) and the Kruskal-Wallis test were used to find significant differences between the presence and absence sites of LEK. It was found that there is no relationship between the abiotic conditions of temperature and relative humidity on the selection of LEK sites, however, for the biotic variables (DAP, CAP, plant cover and height) if significant differences were found between the places of presence and absence of LEK. For behavioral data, two behaviors that had not been previously described were recorded, the proportion of activity during the day was obtained and perch preference was found in the species Cosmibuena grandiflora. Finally, it was found that the selection of the sites of LEK is not determined by environmental conditions, but possibly if it is determined by the conditions of the vegetation present in the sites.
