This document highlights the importance and usefulness that Transformational Leadership has had for modern organizations, as a result of the classical Leadership approaches. The discussion will depart from a brief description about the more relevant leadership styles that in a greater extent have provided to transformational leadership with the basis for its emergence and evolution. Afterwards, a theoretical description about transformational leadership is made, highlighting its principal components and contributions and comparing it with transactional leadership. In the end, a reference to the Full Range Leadership Model and its assessing method is made.
