This study aimed to characterize the social context of the professional practice in psychology carried out by students of the Minuto de Dios University Corporation located in Bello, Colombia, in 2014, by identifying the characteristics of the institution, the population addressed, and the demands expressed to the practitioner, in order to formulate insights on the professional training of psychologists in their contexts of action. A descriptive case study was conducted using as a methodological strategy a documentary review of 259 projects and 259 final reports of practices, analyzed by means of frequency descriptive statistics. The highest percentage of agencies was found to correspond to educational institutions located in urban areas, and with a greater presence in the Municipality of Bello. The population studied was mostly adults, followed by youths and children. The main demands found, common to various occupational fields, were spending time with others, having a life project, family involvement, domestic violence, sex education, psychoactive drug misuse, mental health, and training in values.
