espanolEn este articulo se indica la importancia que ha tenido, y tiene, la busqueda del conocimiento a traves de la investigacion cientifica basica para lograr el bienestar y el progreso de la sociedad. En base a esa importancia, se propone que la investigacion cientifica (experimental) basica debe ser incrementada y, ademas, complementada con el hecho de que el ciudadano responsable debe tener una mayor implicacion y participacion en el conocimiento de la cultura cientifica. EnglishIn this article, it is described how the increase of knowledge, through the basic research, has facilitated the welfare and prosperity of the human being. Based on that, we propose an increase in basic research and that the basic research should be complemented with an increase in the involvement and participation of the average and responsible citizen in the scientific culture.
