This paper presents results of the optimization project to the control loops of the distillation tower No. 2 of the Amtex Company due to the low performance that presents the tower. Toolbox of Matlab® can be obtained the mathematical model that describes the dynamic of plants of temperature and feed flow from the tower and from these models, it comes to tune three control strategies for each loop: PI controllers, PPI controllers with Smith predictor and PI controller with gain scheduling they are tuned using the method of Ziegler-Nicholls. The controllers are implemented in the Control Builder M, programming software of AC800M controller. Finally, it compares the performance of these controllers already applied in the control loops of the real system.
