The University of Tolima and the secondary school made two proposals, one academic Specialization in Production Processing and Marketing of Wood” and the other a research study, co-funded by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO), on the systematic and informative model for economic and technical training of professionals involved in the production, processing and marketing of timber products. The article describes and academic proposal which is based on the Kolb model seven methodological strategies: Forming Self Study Groups GAES, casework and tasks, instructional materials, mix of activities, progressive use of media (ICT) through Moodle, and hypermedia system of economic and technical information, organization and planning of learning activities and consultation, feedback, monitoring and evaluation, which are applied in the curriculum. Graduates, professionals trained and updated, linked to various forestry companies, show that learning unschooled in the production chain of wood using the seven methodological strategies is possible.
