The Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana –UPB- is an institution with eighty years of tradition in the training of professionals at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Historically its mission and goal has been to “train for social and human transformation from the principles of Christian humanism”. As a result of their self-evaluation processes, since the first decade of this century it was detected that the academic programs of the University presented curricula with high levels of inflexibility, in some cases with problems of decontextualization in relation to changes in the environment. It was necessary to redesign the curricular structures of each of the programs in the light of the needs of the context, based on principles such as: flexibility, internationalization, interdisciplinarity, interculturality, contextualization. Also from an approach that would make visible the formation and social and human transformation. The proposed curricular approach is by human capacities (or human development) and competencies. The purpose of the paper is to describe the process of curricular transformation and its results in terms of maps of human capacities and competence.
