The urban growth of the city of Manizales (Colombia) has been accompanied by the formation of neighborhoods on the outskirts, located in areas characterized by high risk and their economic and spatial environment of insecurity. This paper seeks to make a brief account of the conditions of livability of some of the neighborhoods on the outskirts of Manizales. The general conditions of the city and the most vulnerable neighborhoods will be presented, along with the actions of most significant intervention made by management of this city. The city has been planned with advances and stalemates that are worth reviewing.
