This paper proposes one way to describe the origin and development of the Colombian economic law on the foundation and consolidation of the Republic from 1819 to 1853. This proposal is to make a revision and classification of legislative work looking thematic trends based on direct historical sources the time of independence and consolidation of the Republic of Colombia within the framework of global illustrated revolutions, when the philosophical and political thought economic proposals could realize on the state norms with consequent economic law standards. Some historiographical aspects are precised to propose the norms as an object of study of the history of law in countries of the continental family, feature that allows to the historians to have legal standard ontologically as fact and direct historical source herself. the text analises some probles that occupy the development of economic law of the new republic like promoting economic activity, public finance, taxation, monetary system, development of land and sea routes of trade, property, foreign debt, It seeks to contribute to the history of economic law given the incipient development in Colombia.
