This work is a finished thesis project about two novels written by Fanny Buitrago: La senora de la miel and El legado de Corin Tellado. Beginning with the most bold characters, them has been analyzed, childcare models, spheres of competence and social roles for women in different Colombian communities: the Coast and Bogota. The reader will find a critical look at the behaviors of men and women through different narrative strategies: such as hyperbolize to emphasize what is wanted to be highlighted or criticized. First, some historical circumstances could be found, those are relevant to the analysis of the women's power spaces in Colombia and then, an analysis of the representation of these spaces in the novels, Secondly, the representation of women in the two novels has been analyzed in order to reveal their personal power in the story, the spaces within they move and some different strategies used in the representations of women that Buitrago In these novels. Moreover, masculine and feminine issues are compared as negotiation spaces in both novels. Finally the initial points are presented to answer the research question and the following of specific objectives in the work.
