In this study we analyze and understand the uprising carried out by the enslaved muzzles, which took place on January 4, 1794, at the estate Trapiche of Guayabita. Th at event originated due to the mistreatment of butler Joseph Medina to the enslaved; they cultivated the sugar cane and worked in the production of brown sugar, papelon and aguardiente. Th e insurrectionists destroyed part of the infrastructure of the trapiche and wounded the butler. Faced with this situation, the authorities and the owner of the estate intervened, deciding to solve the problem by requesting the release of the detainees and off ering compensation to the butler.
