Los carcinomas con este comportamiento se han catalogado como de «alto riesgo», pero la definicion y los criterios no estan claramente establecidos y no hay consenso entre las diferentes guias mundiales. Al diagnosticar un tumor de alto riesgo, se requiere un abordaje y tratamiento mas agresivos, buscando altas tasas de curacion y menores recurrencias. Esta revision busca tratar de estandarizar las diferentes definiciones del «alto riesgo» y actualizar conceptos sobre el diagnostico y tratamiento de este tipo de tumores de piel. EnglishSquamous cell carcinoma is the second most common cancer of the skin; some of these tumors have an aggressive behavior and can lead to metastasis and local recurrences. The carcinomas with this behavior have been termed «high-risk», but the definition and criteria are not well established and there is no consensus in the different guidelines worldwide. When a highrisk tumor is diagnosed, an aggressive approach and treatment are required, seeking higher rates of complete remission and less recurrences. This review seeks to standardize the different definitions of «high-risk» and actualize concepts about the correct diagnostic approach and treatment in this type of tumors.
