INTRODUCTION: Plagiarism is a recurrent practice common with students at universities. PURPOSE: Interviews and advertising pieces generated by Library and Information Science, and Social Communication students from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogota, D.C. – Colombia), were analized in order for the academic community to become aware of plagiarism. METHODOLOGY: Based on a qualitative study, semi-structured interviews were collected and studied. Those interviews were compiled on audiovisual recordings made by the students, also advertising pieces were designed by them. RESULTS: The designed resources made within the antiplagiarism campaign gave the students some support tools, in order to know the different ways to understand the causes and consequences of plagiarism. CONCLUSIONS: The leading role of an academic professor within the students’ support strategy in order for them to avoid behavior that go against the values promoted by Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
