One of the major difficulties in the area of analysis of human faces is that it has not yet achieved to obtain a methodology that is totally reliable, since it is a subject matter difficult to approach from the point of view that the faces are complex structures that present variations in its physical structure and to what there add the problematic ones that are considered in the treatment of images. Given this problematics, through research and previous knowledge, the development presented below is intended to describe the application of a technique that will serve for the extraction of morphological features of the human face from images. Which is based on a theoretical study of the biometric, morphological, anthropometric and forensic components, it provides a basis for the identification of the characteristics or quantitative measures and qualitative characteristics useful for for these studies and references to create techniques or computational methods. Of this study 35 landmarks are identified, with which calculate 12 quantitative measures, which relate to 24 qualitative descriptors who support a vocabulary associated with the description of faces. The tests to evaluate the performance of the technique of extraction of morphological features was performed with the database FERET of which, 96 images were selected by different population characteristics, different ages and tests were realized with some additional objects in the face in order to test the method under different conditions.
