This paper proposes a program for prevention of musculoskeletal injuries in electrical technicians working on overhead distribution networks. Two aspects are reviewed in the first part: prevalence of back pain, and specific personal characteristics. In the second part, two methodologies are applied for data collection: The “Institute of Urban Development” survey, and the “Nordic Kuorinka” survey. Results shown that out of 58 workers, 27 (56%) displayed a type of upsetting. The most frequent was back pain with 48%, followed by shoulders, 21% right shoulder and 17% left shoulder. The analysis shows that this sort of job requires a physical effort that can cause negative health issues on the long term. Finally, a program for the prevention of musculoskeletal injuries is proposed.
