Asociación del dolor podal con variables podométricas, de la práctica deportiva e índice de masa corporal en niños de 12 a 14 años de escuelas de formación deportiva de fútbol de la ciudad de Sincelejo, 2014
On many occasions, children who practice sports, especially soccer, may feel pain in their feet at some point (before, during or after practice), due to different agents that may be associated with factors extrinsic to sports practice such as footwear, the type of terrain, the misuse of bandages or also due to intrinsic factors such as an increase in the body mass index (BMI) or type of the foot. Objective: To establish the association of foot pain with pedometric variables, sports practice and Body Mass Index (BMI) in children aged 12 to 14 years from football sports training schools in the city of Sincelejo. Materials and Methods: Descriptive correlational cross-sectional study. A simple probability sampling was carried out. 232 children from the city of Sincelejo were evaluated. The Herzco Method was used for podometric variables; the calculation of the BMI was carried out according to the growth standards of the WHO. Results: Significant differences were found in the frequency of weekly training with foot pain (p> 0.05), (Table 1) also, a significant association was found between the use of insoles, heel pads and bandages on the ankle with the prevalence of foot pain (p> 0.05), as well as a statistically significant association between foot pain and the type of the right foot (Herzco Method) (Table 9). A statistically significant association was also found between the location of foot pain and the type of the right foot (Herzco Method) (p> 0.05), (Table 10).
