This paper describes a study that investigated the attitudes towards statistics of a sample of 115 teachers of statistics of primary and secondary education in two major Colombian cities. The study investigated the influence of variables related to attitudes towards statistics and its teaching. We used a survey and a Likert questionnaire to collect information from participants and we did a variance analysis and an exploratory factor analysis. The results show that a degree in education and teaching experience are factors associated with positive attitudes of statistics in service teachers.
