Objective: To analyze abbreviated versions of the Yesavage Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) according to the data obtained in the SABE survey in Bogota. Materials and methods: This study has a descriptive retrospective cross-sectional design, using the database of the SABE survey, with 2000 records, analyzing 1957 of them according to exclusion criteria. For data analysis SPSS v21 software was used, and through Cronbach's alfa coefficient reliability of the scale was estimated by internal consistency. Conclusions: The 10 item version of the scale Yesavage has the highest internal consistency, which would catalogues it a better option in depression screening.
