This paper addresses the question What are the changes and continuities facing today's youth and swirl Caguan regarding phenomena as the production of coca and violence and how they affect the construction of youth ?, and done with a group of youths from the village Emmaus Youth Swirl Caguan, which is an inspection of police in the municipality of Cartagena del Chaira, Caqueta. In the first part of this document the problem statement, the methodological design and conceptual framework of labor develops. The first chapter covers the main events that reflect the dynamics of coca cultivation referring to the armed groups that have influence in the municipality of Cartagena del Chaira from the seventies until today. The second chapter deals with the experiences and perceptions of young people about the cultivation of coca and what it has meant to swirl Caguan, their families and residents. Meanwhile, in the third chapter his experiences on the various expressions of violence are explored, the areas where they occur and the actors involved. At the end some conclusions that show the continuities and transformations now facing young people living in the territory to the dynamics of coca cultivation and violence are presented.
