It was a study of the functional morphology of neotropical aquatic macroinveitebrates in high mountain lakes chmgaza natural national park. To do 38995 organisms were collected during the period September 2015 in the lagoons of Buitrago, L Seca, L. Grande, L. Siecha and L. Verde. The work focused on studying the morphological characteristics of individuals relative to the substrate where they were found, as they depend on him for support, displacement, interaction with other agencies, meeting reproduction for adults and find feed. Because of these interactions is considered as the substrate a microenvironment. In this work, the different modalities of the evaluated biological traits (body length, mobility type, breathing and body shape) for each of the species collected in a substrate of the coastal zone were categorize, individuals were pooled at each point in order to know which of the forms were more favorable in the different substrates. Sediment and macrophytes were the two types of substrates and they had characteristic biological features for each group of individuals.
