work sought to analyze how the Colombian media informed about the peace talks held in Havana, Cuba, between the Government of Juan Manuel Santos and the guerrilla of the FARC. This investigation was not exhaustive for the analysis was based solely on four newspapers (El Tiempo, El Espectador, El Pais and El Colombiano) and only five moments were considered (the beginning of the public phase of the talks, suspension of negotiations as a result of the kidnapping of General Alzate, first announcement by the FARC of the unilateral and indefinite ceasefire, arrival of the FARC to the district of Conejo, in Guajira, and signing of the final agreement). The first part of the text explains the research problem and provides a brief justification on the importance and relevance of the thesis in the fields of political science and conflict resolution. Subsequently, the methodological aspects are addressed as well as the purpose of the study, the objectives and the research question. Next, reference is made to the research strategy, where the conceptual and theoretical frameworks are laid out. The findings follow, presented according to four analytical categories. Finally, the thesis ends with a chapter of conclusions and recommendations.
