Consejo de sabios de Teusaquillo una participación política incidente para la administración pública desde la formulación del plan de desarrollo local 2012-2016
In Colombian society, older people are stereotyped by decreasing capacities and opportunities for insertion of political and civic life. The Council of Teusaquillo s Elders is an expression of a group of seniors who exercise active citizenship independently and jointly form with international, national and district standards, human rights, participation, advocacy, democracy, social control and quality senior life. For this purpose they keep relationships with the authorities sharing their wisdom, knowledge and skills for participation and advocacy. If we focused our look at the formulation stage development plan 2012-2016, we can note: internal organization, leadership, management and results regarding to the mandate of its highest authority: Elder's assembly of the location. All stated above in the light of conceptual developments and theoretical discussions about politics and citizen participation and influence as: Human rights within the framework of social policy and social rule of law, normative right, international, national and local, and district for participation political, civic and advocacy related to public policies on old age and aging: Characterize Bogota's population (diagnosis of problems and services they receive from the Capital District), analyze the practices of participation that older people make in Teusaquillo and the case of the Council of Elders in relation to the formulation of Local Development plan 2012-2016.
