Adherencia a los elementos de protección individual (EPI) que tiene el personal de salud que labora en el área de hospitalización cirugía de un hospital de IV nivel en Bogotá
The adherence to EIP is part of the Management System of Biological Risk in healt institutions which is integrated to the System of Safety and Health at Work. Objective: Determine the adherence to EIP of the health personnel tha twork in the area of surgery hospitalization in a IV level hospital in Bogota Methodology: Descriptive and observational cross-section quantitative study which describes theadherence to EIP in a population of 26 health workers of surgery hospitalization area. Results: 86,6% correspond to female and 15,3% to male. the predominant age group was between 20-30 years with 80%. The adherence to the use of EIP was: in the nursing assistants was 84 % to gloves and 48% to the conventional mask, in nurses was 87 % to gloves and 93% to the conventional mask, medical specialists was 50 % to gloves and 0% of the monogoggless. Conclusions: Learning, knowing and being agens of self-care make professionals be responsable of their own acts bearing in mind the risk taken without thea dherence to EIP so each person becomes a self-care agent and facilitates an appropriate, healthy and safework place.
