The education represents an important tool for social mobility through employment; in this sense the insertion into the labor market depends on important factors such as level of education and the general and specific skills which the people have. In this way it is important to analyze the profiles that the market is demanding and profiles offered through academic pensum. This research aims to assess the quality of the program in Economics from Universidad Militar Nueva Granada UMNG from those points of view. To make this it has been revised the databases from labor observatory of the Ministry of Education. Specifically, it was analized with that database the ubication of this graduates, also the employer´s perception in the main cities of the country about general work skills of recent graduates hired higher education. Also it was reviewed the academic curriculum offered for this program. Finally a series of actions were established in order to improve this Program where it could be found the need of strengthen technological management aspects and the need of have one seminary where the students can define their owns electives, among other.
