Spanish Abstract: Este articulo analiza la evolucion del sistema de tranvias en Bogota y el desarrollo empresarial que lo acompano en el periodo 1882-1951, para entender la relacion de la elite con este proyecto y de que manera la aparicion de nuevas tecnologias de transporte incidieron en el diseno de la ciudad y en la dinamica social y economica, asi como su efecto en los sectores populares. English Abstract: This article analyzes the evolution of the tramway system in Bogota and the business development that came along during the period 1882-1951, to understand the relationship of the elite with this project and the impact of the new transport technologies on the city design, the social and economic dynamics, and its effect on the popular sectors.
