The present article seeks to approach the gen- eral situation of the oral files in the country, emphasizing in a special way the problems concerning the oral archives of memory of the internal armed conflict. We will first look at the advances that have been made in oral records in Colombia since the 1980s. Later we will combine the general problems of the oral files with the difficulties that, from our research ex- perience, we have been observing in different initiatives that have worked the memory of the Colombian internal armed conflict from orality. This is in order to have a broader per- spective of the challenges involved, in a con- text like the Colombian one, to erect oral files of memory of the referred conflict. Finally, we will point out the potential that connotes, both in the academic and sociopolitical order, the construction of spaces such as oral memory archives. The commitment to a reasoned his- torical memory, which allows victims and soci- ety, in general, to understand more deeply the Colombian internal armed conflict, as well as the promotion of interdisciplinarity promoted by oral documents, are aspects that highlight the need for these archives.
