The burned by work syndrome (SQT) is one of the most prevalent pathologies of today’s working context, being a response to chronic stress that is a loss of illusion at work, mental degaste, indolence and guilt; also factors outside the workplace psychosocial risks are a major source of stress, thereby affecting the personal, family and community aspect of workers. The aim of this study was to establish if there is a relationship between the psychosocial risk factors outside the workplace and the burned by work syndrome of the security guards of the port sector in Buenaventura city during 2016. As a descriptive correlational cross-sectional study with a sample of 93 individuals to which we applied the questionnaire for the evaluation of Burned by work syndrome (CESQT) and the psychosocial risk Factors outside the workplace battery for psychosocial risk from the social protection ministry questionnaire. The results show that there is a highly significant correlation (p = 0.000) between SQT and outside the workplace psychosocial risks; concluding that not only the factors at work are not the only responsible for psychopathologies as burned by work syndrome, but there is also an important mediation of external factors at the origin of this.
