Spanish Abstract: El objetivo de este articulo es mostrar de que manera los municipios que tienen como parte de sus recursos hidricos aguas termales – y que se han enfocado en ellas para la promocion turistica de su territorio – deben configurar su mirada hacia un nuevo producto turistico que incluya diversas actividades relacionadas con el turismo termal o termalismo, enmarcadas en el turismo de bienestar. Se propone dicho objetivo porque resulta fundamental entender que tras las aguas termales subyace un sinfin de actividades relacionadas que van mas alla de la simple actividad recreativa que se oferta actualmente en los municipios de la region en los equivocadamente llamados balnearios.Para pasar de las actividades convencionales que se desarrollan en la region a partir del turismo termal a un nuevo producto turistico que sea abarcado por el turismo de bienestar y toda su diversidad, se propone como aporte al sector una matriz que permite identificar las oportunidades del turismo de bienestar en la region Bogota (Cundinamarca): “M. O. T. B. R.”, que caracteriza los recursos disponibles del territorio y busca posibilitar su desarrollo.Esta matriz se elabora como metodologia para identificar los municipios que tienen oportunidades para el turismo de bienestar se han identificado 19 y su clasificacion se realiza de acuerdo con su desarrollo e inclusion de factores endogenos y exogenos, tal como se presentara mas adelante. English Abstract: The purpose of this article is to explore in which way towns with thermal waters who have use it in order to promote their location, can transform the use of this resource into a more complete typology of tourism such as welfare tourism. The importance of this is to understand that behind the recreational use of thermal waters there are other activities to explore.To be able to change the regular activities of thermal tourism to welfare tourism a matrix has been elaborated to identify the opportunities of the tourism welfare in the region of Bogota (Cundinamarca): “WSMR”, that characterizes the available resources of the territory in order to enhance its development. This matrix has been elaborated as a methodology to identify the towns who have the potential to develop a welfare tourism. In the region, have been identify 19 of them and its classification was made according to its development and inclusion of endogenous and exogenous factors.
