Para la adecuada constitucion y funcionamiento de un centro gerontologico se deben seguir unos requisitos de orden legal y desarrollar una estructura logistica y locativa que permitan que la atencion a las personas de la tercera edad se presente en unas condiciones optimas, tanto frente a los requerimientos de ley como en las condiciones minimas para que la prestacion del servicio sea eficiente y en niveles de dignidad. En el presente estudio se hace un enfasis en los requisitos de ley que debe cumplir todo centro asistencial para su constitucion legal, lo cual le permite visibilizarse ante las autoridades y entidades que ejercen control sobre las instituciones dedicadas a la atencion integral a los adultos mayores. The legal problems of geriatric centers in the city of Medellin Abstract For the proper constitution and functioning of a geriatric center, legal requirements must be followed and a logistical and locative structure must be developed that allows that the attention to the elderly be presented in optimal conditions, both in relation to the requirements of law and in the minimum conditions, so that the provision of the service is efficient and in dignified levels. In the present study, an emphasis is placed on the requirements of law, that every health care center must comply with for its legal constitution, which allows it to be made visible to the authorities and entities that exercise control over the institutions dedicated to comprehensive care for the elderly.
