The constant growth of mobile users and high performance requirements of applications imply new challenges for deployment of wireless communication systems, which despite all the limitations should tend for the quality of the subscriber experience. The downlink packet scheduling plays an important role in the fourth generation systems, because it is responsible for intelligently allocate radio resources to users, according to an algorithm set. In the study carried out a downlink packet scheduler based on an evolutionary algorithm was developed; the obtained performance is comparable to conventional packet schedulers.
