Objective: To demonstrate that the impact of the process of conquest in Latin America produced a type of being mestizo incomplete and misunderstood by its binary condition of son of son of Spanish and indigenous ontologically. Methodology: analyzed documents were collected and compiled through bibliographic sources. Results: the current situation of European reason to the rest of knowledge is located; Then, we focus on the ontological status of being Latin American to the impact of the process of conquest. Finally the thesis of Latin Americanist bastard like the person that joins the paradox of two opposing worlds addressed. Conclusions: This ontological incomprehension has kept us in an unfinished modernity that is evident in a number of political, social and economic problems of our peoples.
