is a social organization that was created 4 years ago ( from the July 29, 2009 ), in the area of influence of involvement of the Hydroelectric Project, located in the municipalities of jurisdiction Gigante, Garzon, El agrado, Pital, Paicol and Tesalia, in the department of Huila in southern Colombia. This organization is mainly composed of peasants, fishermen, laborers and tenants who refuse to leave their territories and undertake an organizational process called Association of affected by the construction of hydroelectric Quimbo Asoquimbo. This project is being implemented by transnational the Emgesa energy sector, which would flood 8,250 hectares, where 90 % are fertile lands of Huila. Since that time, Asoquimbo has become the organization that represents the interests of those affected, carrying out legal actions against different type instances of national civil order for the environmental license, protest actions, nonviolent resistance is suspended and mobilization against the State and the company Emgesa, in turn undertake the alternative proposal for the creation of a Rural Reserve Area for the region.
