Although the white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) has been broadly studied in diverse countries that conform its geographical distribution, in situ research carried out in Colombia about the subspecies goudotii is still scarce. Starting from studies that indicate variations in the behavior according to the environmental conditions a behavioral characterization was carried out looking to determine if differences exist with regard to that described in the literature. The study, carried out during eight sampling months, allowed to define 25 behavioral units distributed within five categories. The results indicate that this species dedicates comparatively most of the time to feed, while resting periods are not very frequent. The bimodal patron in the daily activity of white tailed deer at Chingaza Natural Park coincides with that reported in other studies.
