espanolEste documento, logrado desde la consulta, el analisis bibliografico y la reflexion sobre el acelerado deterioro ambiental, pretende destacar la importancia de incorporar la gestion integral de los residuos de aparatos electricos y electronicos en el sistema educativo, en especial, en la formacion de los ingenieros ambientales, pues se requiere la creacion de estrategias que posibiliten su manejo pertinente desde la produccion mas limpia, el consumo sostenible y la gestion pos-consumo. La Universidad Catolica de Manizales, con base en la experiencia formativa acumulada en el campo de la ingenieria, considera oportuno asumir este reto, articulando desde la vision holistica, la pertinencia de la oferta formativa destinada a la creacion de nuevos profesionales, que respondan a los requerimientos actuales dictados por la compleja e inaplazable cuestion ambiental. EnglishThis paper, which resulted from the consultation, the bibliographical analysis and the reflection on the accelerated environmental deterioration, tries to highlight the importance of incorporating an integral management of electrical and electronic device residues in the educational system, especially in the training process of environmental engineers, since it is necessary to create strategies that make possible their appropriate handling for the deanest production, the sustainable consumption and the post-consumption management. The Catholic University of Manizales, based on the formative experience accumulated in the fleld of Engineering, considers it appropriate to assume this challenge, articulating from the holistic view, the relevance of the training aimed at the creation of new professionals who will respond to the current demands dictated by this complex environmental issue that cannot be postponed.
