The research was realized in two zones of the Dulce River, located in Villeta (Cundinamarca), near the San Jose farm of the Universidad Pedagogica Nacional. Some hidrological, physical and Chemical aspects and the spatial and temporal pattems of the aquatic insect community were analyzed. A fieldwork from June 2003 to May 2004 was carried out. 5456 specimens distributed in eight orders, 29 families and 34 genera were collected. The orders that registrated the highest number of families were Trichoptera and Diptera (eight families). They were followed by Coleoptera (five families), Ephemeroptera (three families), Hemiptera (two families) and finally by Lepidoptera, Megaloptera and Plecoptera (one family each). Baetodes (Ephemeroptera), Maruina and Simulium (Diptera) genus showed the highest abundance percents in both stations.
