Vivencias de las mujeres que trascurren su proceso de atención de parto y cuidado posparto con compañía y sin compañía de un familiar y bajo el cuidado de enfermería
The following is an investigation done to eleven women in the puerperium period (the tenth day), whose last birth was October of 2009 in the Clinica Universitaria Colombia. This research was a qualitative and descriptive type that implemented an in-depth-semi-structured interview with content analysis as a tool. Its purpose was to describe the experiences of the women that passed their delivery postpartum attention and care process with company and without company of a family member and under the care of the nurse staff. This was established in two instances; the labor and the postpartum care, documenting first an experience where the mother does not have the opportunity of being accompanied by a family member and another where the mother has the presence of a family member, while demonstrating the profesional care presented by the nurses. The results from this investigation illustrated and highlighted the importance of having the company of a loved one during labor for a mother, since this gives them security, confidence, tranquility, and also strengthens their pain tolerance. Furthermore, considering the childbirth attention that the nursing staff offers to the mothers, it can be gathered that the attentiveness of the nurses provides the mothers with the tools to exercise self-care through education, strengthen the emotional bond in the family and amplify the knowledge about postpartum care.
